This page is about the singularly most fun technique on this site. Also the easiest technique. And the technique that will most likely get you booked at electronic arts festivals.
It is called circuit bending and once you’ve bent your circuit it will amuse you for hours, days, weeks (depending on the chemicals in your brain) on end.
In some circles it is insanely cool - but it is also insanely easy, if you want to challenge yourself perhaps I suggest learn how to play a musical instrument.
Circuit bending is introducing errors in a circuit of an old keyboard or electronic noise making toy by soldering extra switches, pots and body contacts to various points on the circuit board. The sound is then ‘glitched’ and you are a glitchcore muso!
Google ‘circuit bending’ and you will found out all you need to know, however my favourite site is the Warranty Voidsite. Check out his FAQ cause he is hardcore and we love him for it.
Personally I have limited myself to bending two devices - it can be addictive!
